Fire-fighters had cautioned against this piece of advice
from Francis Maude, and even furthering suggesting that it is in fact, illegal
to do so. According a Surrey Comet article, it is illegal to “more than a two
suitable metal containers, each of a maximum capacity of 10 litres, or two
plastic containers, of a five-litre maximum capacity.”
